what we believe

The Bible

WE BELIEVE

the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God—eternal, true, and relevant to all people. It is without error, completely trustworthy, and stands as the ultimate authority for our lives.

( II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20,21; Matthew 5:18; John 16:12,13; II Timothy 1:13; Psalm 119:9,11,105,160; Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5 )

One Eternal God

WE BELIEVE

in one eternal God, who is Creator, Ruler, and Sustainer of all things. He has revealed Himself as Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit.

( Genesis 1:1,26,27; 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; I Peter 1:2; II Corinthians 13:14 )

The Father

WE BELIEVE

in God the Father, who loves each person and desires a personal relationship with us. He has made this relationship possible through His Son.

( Romans 5:8; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8,9 )

The Son

WE BELIEVE

in ‘The Son,’ Jesus Christ, who voluntarily left Heaven and came to earth through the miracle of a ‘virgin birth.’ He came to willingly give up His life on the cross, and in His death, burial, and resurrection provided for forgiveness of sin, and a personal relationship with God. He now lives in Heaven to save all who come to Him in faith. He will come some day to set things right on this earth.

( Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 1:22,23; John 1:1-5; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; John 14:10-30; Romans 3:23-25; Ephesians 1:7; I Peter 1:3-5; Romans 1:3,4; II Peter 3:9; I Corinthians 15:3,4; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 10:9-13; Hebrews 2:17,18; 4:14-16; 7:25; 9:24; I John 2:1,2; Romans 8:34; I Timothy 6:14,15 )

The Holy Spirit

WE BELIEVE

in the Holy Spirit, who is present in the world to reveal God’s truth and our need for Jesus. He lives within every believer from the moment of salvation, providing understanding of Scripture and empowering us to live out our faith.

(Romans 8:9-11; Ephesians 1:13,14; John 14:16,17; 15:26; 16:7-13; I Corinthians 3:16; II Corinthians 3:4-6,17; I Corinthians 2:9-14; Acts 1:8; Galatians 5:16-25; Ephesians 5:15-18)

People

WE BELIEVE

that every person is created in God’s image, designed to know, love, and glorify Him. We affirm the sanctity and inherent value of all human life, including that of the unborn. However, we also recognize that all people are separated from God by sin, and that there is no human solution to this problem.

( Genesis 1:26,27; Psalm 8:1,3-9; Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:22,23; 5:12; Psalm 139:13-16 )

WE BELIEVE

our relationship with God is restored only by trusting in Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross. This salvation is a gift of grace, based solely on God’s character, and is secure forever.

( John 3:16,17; 14:6; II Peter 3:9; Ephesians 2:8,9; John 1:12; I Peter 1:18,19; Romans 6:23; 10:9-13; Titus 3:4-7; John 10:27-30; Romans 8:1,31,35,38,39; John 14:1-3; Hebrews 7:24,25; 10:10,14; I Peter 1:3-5 )

WE BELIEVE

God intentionally created humanity in His image, making us male and female. Gender is a sacred gift, rooted in God’s purposeful design and affirmed throughout Scripture. We affirm that sexuality is also a good gift from God, intended to be expressed within the covenant of marriage. We believe marriage to be a lifelong, exclusive union between one man and one woman. This union reflects Christ’s relationship with the Church and is the proper context for sexual intimacy, the nurturing of children, and the flourishing of families. We hold that all people are called to honor God with their bodies, whether in faithful marriage or in celibate singleness, and to treat every person with love and dignity, recognizing each as a bearer of God’s image.

( Genesis 1:27; 2:24; Ephesians 5:31–32; Matthew 19:4–5 )

Eternity

WE BELIEVE

Jesus taught that death is not the end. All people will spend eternity either in Heaven or separated from God in a literal hell.

( Matthew 25:46; John 3:16-18; John 5:28,29; John 11:25,26; 14:1-4; Revelation 20:5,6,12,13,15; Romans 6:23; 8:17-18 )

BUT GOD DEMONSTRATES HIS OWN LOVE FOR US IN THIS: WHILE WE WERE STILL SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.

Romans 5:8-9
