MAN We teach that man, male and female, was directly and immediately
created by God in His image and likeness. The sacredness of human personality
is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ
died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity
and is worthy of respect and Christian love. Man was created free of sin
with a rational nature, intelligence, volition, self-determination, and
moral responsibility to God. We teach that Gods intention in the creation of man was that
man should glorify God, enjoy Gods fellowship, live his life in
the will of God, and by this accomplish Gods purpose for man in
the world. We teach that in Adams
sin of disobedience to the revealed will and Word of God, man lost his
innocence; incurred the penalty of spiritual and physical death; became
subject to the wrath of God; and became inherently corrupt and utterly
incapable of choosing or doing that which is acceptable to God apart from
divine grace. With no recuperative powers to enable him to recover himself,
man is hopelessly lost. Mans salvation is thereby wholly of Gods
grace through the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ. We teach that because all men were in Adam, a nature corrupted
by Adams sin has been transmitted to all men of all ages, Jesus
Christ being the only exception. All men are thus sinners by nature, by
choice, and by divine declaration. KJV References

is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed
him; yea, I have made him. Col. 1:16 For
by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth,
visible and invisible, whether [they be] thrones, or dominions, or principalities,
or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: Re. 4:11 Thou

created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Ps. 14:1-3 The
fool hath said in his heart, [There is] no God. They are corrupt, they
have done abominable works, [there is] none that doeth good.
2 The LORD looked
down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that
did understand, and seek God. 3
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there
is none that doeth good, no, not one. Jer. 17:9 The
heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can
know it? Ro. 3:9-18 What
then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved
both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 As it is written,
There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 There is none that
understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone
out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that
doeth good, no, not one. 13
Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have
used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth
is full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Their feet are
swift to shed blood: 16
Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way
of peace have they not known: 18
There is no fear of God before their eyes. Ro. 3:23 For
all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Ro. 5:10-12 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. 12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: |
